CLIVIA
Check out the selection of Chinese pots to complement any Clivia selection.

Clivia caulescens -
New plants available and they are HUGE. This is the time to buy!!! This is a “climbing” clivia. The stems can reach lengths of 6’ or more in the wild. The tubular flowers are orange tipped with green. This interesting growth habit should be used more often in gardens where they are hardy. They are not common in the trade but need to be. The flower heads can have up to 20 flowers per stem in the spring.

Clivia "Peach Picotee" (x cyrtanthiflora type) -
This is an old Ito hybrid from gardens that has been rediscovered. The flowers open peach with a white edge and then fade to salmon in a cool growing environment. When it blooms in warm weather, the blooms can mature to red. Blooms don't have a set bloom period. Large clumps will be in bloom year round. Very limited stock. Clivia 'French Hybrids' -
There have been some really nice things come out of this breeding line. At the least, they are broad leaved plants with full round heads on medium sized plants to 3’ tall. At their best, I have pulled multipetals, picotees, and variegated reds. Before the dwarf Chinese plants, these were the best compact plants available and they are still worth growing for this reason.

1 Gallon pot:
CLIVFREN1G - $15.00

Clivia gardenii -
This is a rarely offered Clivia. It has strong orange pendulous flowers with green tips. It is a good clumper and forms nice plants pretty quickly. Hybrids with C. miniata, called minigards are fast growing plants that can flower in 3 years from seeds.

1 Gallon pot:
CLIVGARD1G - $35.00

Clivia 'Interspecific Rudo' -
Bella, Bella, Bella!!! Lotter hybrids are always stunning and this is no slacker. The clear deep peach pink flowers are held on strong stems over a long period of time.

CLIVINTE1G - $65.00

Clivia 'Lemon Ice' -

1 Gallon pot:
CLIVLEMO1G - $100.00

Clivia nobilis -
This is a rarity among Clivias. The leaves and flowers are very unusual. The short strap like leaves are very stiff and brittle with a sharp serration on the edges and a slight dimple at the tip. The flowers are small orange tubes with green tips. This is a very slow grower abut reaches the same size (3’ or more) as other Clivias. This was the first Clivia to be discovered and thus the type for the genus. It was named after Lady Clive. This species is from the East coast of South Africa. These are single plants at this time.

1 Gallon pot:
CLIVNOBI1G - $35.00

Clivia 'Ramona-esque' -

1 Gallon pot:
CLIVRAMO1G - $100.00

Clivia robusta -
This is a recently named plant that has been in cultivation for quite a while but listed as gardenii Robust form from several locations. They are from the Black Sands Transkei area and Port Edwards. It is a much larger plant than the typical gardenii in that the plant can easily reach 5’ tall rather quickly. They are native to marsh areas with either wet forest areas or growing along streams with fresh water flowing in the soil beneath them.

1 Gallon pot:
CLIVROBU1G - $45.00

Clivia 'San Marcos Yellow' -
This is a great plant. The leaves are average but the flowers are really nice. This is a must for first timers that want a yellow to grow. The medium wide tepals (which is both sepals and petal) are variable since this is a seed lot but, there is a good proportion of these plants that are fragrant so it makes up for it. These are flowering size plants in 1 gal pots.

1 Gallon pot:
CLIVSANM1G - $25.00

Clivia 'Solomone Variegated Yellow' -
Always a collector's item, this rare offering is for some choice material. Variegation patterns are subject to availability. The best coloring will be chosen at the time of ordering. One gallon plants are 4-5 leaves and are at least 2 years from bloomong. Five gallon are blooming size.

Clivia Arturos Yellow -
Now these are stunning plants. Even though they are a seed strain, there are some great plants that have come out of this group. Many are quite large, wide leaf garden specimens that require some space. But, there are smaller stature ones too. The tepals (meaning both the sepals and petals) are broad and many of the flowers are fragrant. The flowers are held high on strong scapes. This is a must for anyone wanting to breed wide leaf yellows with good substance.

3 Gallon pot:
CLIVARTU3G - $75.00

Clivia variegated red tulip -
This is a beautiful selection that can not grow fast enough. The finely variegated leaves are the perfect backdrop to the deep red tulip shape flowers. Clivia Solomone variegated Orange -
From the famous Solomone breeding farm comes this range of variegated oranges. The photos show the range of patterns that are available, from fine pin stripes that are excellent for breeding to bold stripes worthy of winning awards. There is no preference when ordering. Plants are pulled at random but all are just gorgeous. The flower shown here represents a truely lovely find in this line of breeding but most are more of a standard orange color. The small seedlings have minimal variegation and are 1-2 leaves.
